Capcom's Breath of Fire has never been considered as one of the top RPG series out there. This games does have a decent following (myself included), but even its fans will readily admit that the series just can't compete with the Final Fantasies or Lunars of the gaming world.
Breath of Fire IV always show promise and contain a handful of truly involving features, but the lack of polish and the abundance of flaws always keeps them from rising to role-playing stardom.
